Hi All. Question 152 in the 191 set.
What is the priority value of the VLAN 105 HSRP group on DSW2?
    A. 50
    B. 100
    C. 150
    D. 200
    Answer: B
The output of the explanation in this question appears to me to show that the answer is C. Anyone agree with me?

    Hi All,
I’ll take the exam on Friday. I see most of the people say that 191+21 are valid, but i found more drag&drop questions in braindump2go (230q). Did Cisco remove those questions, or they can appear on the exam day?
    Thanks,
    Alex

@Alex, those extra drag and drop questions in those dumps are very likely from the old SWITCH 642 exam.

@RJ Awesome. You should be able to ping the Router from SWB and port channel should be UP/UP on both Switches SWA & SWB.

Did you tried #not shut command under int range fa0/3 – 4 on both switches ?

Hi guys. I have one doubt regarding this question:

    —+—————————————————————–+—
    switch# sh run
    Building configuration…

    Interface FastEthernet0/1
    description Uplink to Core
    switchport
    switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
    switchport trunk allowed vlan 1-90,100-199,200-900,1000-4000
    switchport mode trunk
    —+—————————————————————–+—

Q: A network engineer changes the default native VLAN to VLAN 999. After applying the settings on the uplinks to the core switches, the switch control traffic, such as CDP and VTP, is no longer working. The standard configuration is used for each uplink. What is wrong with the configuration?

    A. The interface is administratively down.
    B. The encapsulation type is incorrect.
    C. The switchport mode trunk command should be first in the output.
    D. The native VLAN is not present on the trunk.
    E. The control traffic must be manually enabled on the new native VLAN.

    +——————————————————————————————+

Answer appears to be option D. Could someone explain that? As I understand, even if the native vlan is removed from the allowed vlans, it should work for control plane traffic as stated in the book, page 445.

    Passed the exam today.
    Lab, LACP, AAA and HSRP.
    all questions came from 191 + 21.
Thanks to all’s contribution here. it was really a great help.

    Here’s my tip:
on LACP, the question says, apply the config on the physical interfaces only. so don’t apply on the port channel.

on AAA, it is mentioned, named access-list is not permitted. so use numbered acl.
dot1x port-control auto (no hyphen between control and auto)

@ RJ awesome not necessary to use ping.
just sh int trunk to verify the trunks were formed and sh etherchannel summary to verify the port-channels are up and both interface showing (P)

  17. Sani
    March 29th, 2017

    @AT#
the command “switchport trunk native vlan 999” was missing in the configuration under int fa0/1. you need to define this as the native vlan was changed from 1 (default)
nothing to do with the manual pruning of vlans.

this was the exact commands I used which I got 100% score
Kindly note to read the question carefully.
In my question, it is written named access-list not permitted in the exam.
Secondly, run a “show run” command first before starting your configuration so you can check if int fa0/1 is already configured with switch access vlan 20 and switch mode access. mine was already there that is why I did not define it anymore.

    ASW (config) # aaa new-model
    ASW (config) # radius-server host 172.120.40.46 key rad123

    ASW (config) # int fa0/1
    ASW (config-if) # dot1x port-control auto
    ASW (config-if) # no shut
    ASW (config-if) # exit
    ASW # copy run start

    DSW (config)# accesss-list 10 permit 172.120.40.0 0.0.0.255
    DSW (config)# exit
    DSW (config)# vlan access-map ccnp 10
DSW (config-access-map)# match ip address 10
    DSW (config-access-map)# action forward
    DSW (config-access-map)# exit

    DSW (config)# vlan access-map ccnp 20
    DSW (config-access-map)# action drop
    DSW (config-access-map)# exit

    DSW (config)# vlan filter ccnp vlan-list 20
    DSW # copy run start

Labs and Qs are the same.
With dot1x lab to verify use this commands:
    On ALS:
show dot1x (shows that dot1x enabled)
show dot1x interface fa0/1 (shows big output include the state of port)
    On DLS:
    show vlan access-map
    show vlan filter
    show ip access-lists

Why isnt anybody pasting the 5 suggestions mentioned on the previous pages? I have passed the Switch exam with a breeze with those suggestions. Definitely helped me out because I wouldnt have thought to make sure that the portchannels are up and up with the “sh ip int br” at the end of my configs on the LACP STP simulation. THus, when doing the sh ip int br, of course I saw my portchannel up down and went through the configs again carefully to bring it back up. Also the 3bay materials have good verification suggestions for each sim and straight forward stepped out processes for the instructions to the simulations. Would say better instructed then whats on this website but this website is also useful. Here are the 5 suggestions posted on the previous pages that helped me a lot:

    1. On the LACP-STP Simulation, configure the trunk configurations on the physical interfaces first before adding them onto the portchannel. (My added suggestion) Make sure to use the “sh ip int br” command to verify your port channel is up and up.

    2. On the AAAdot1x, the IP address for the Radius server may change, thus look at the description of the simulation to see which ip address you need to plug in for the Radius Server

    3. People tend to confuse that there is an HSRP simulation with the HSRP TShoot Simlet. There is not simulation for the HSRP, only simulations for the Switch exam are the: LACP-STP, MLS-EIGRP, and AAAdot1x.

    4. View the links and postings on this website, as there tends to be helpful information for the Switch Exam here.

    5. Here is the link to the 3bay materials, if you want to use the dump I used:

    3. Show cdp neighbor detail on switch A to know the router IP (gateway)
    4.show vlan on both switches

@ swalmeh i think you need run the following command in LACP on both switches (SWA & SWB)

    int port-channel 1
    swit mode trunk
    swit trunk native vlan 99
    no shut

otherwise you will get Native VLAN 99 mismatch error on both switches.
