Question 1

Question 2

Question 3

The information contained in Cisco Discovery Protocol advertisements varies based on the type of device and the installed version of the operating system. Some of the information that Cisco Discovery Protocol can learn includes:
+ Cisco IOS version running on Cisco devices
+ Hardware platform of devices
+ IP addresses of interfaces on devices
+ Locally connected devices advertising Cisco Discovery Protocol
+ Interfaces active on Cisco devices, including encapsulation type
+ Hostname
+ Duplex setting
+ VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) domain
+ Native VLAN

Type-Length-Value (TLV) fields are blocks of information embedded in Cisco Discovery Protocol advertisements. Information in advertisements varies, and the TLV frame format allows for extending advertisements when needed.

CDPv2 advertises IP Network Prefix TLV contains a list of network prefixes to which a sending device can forward IP packets. A prefix includes the interface protocol and the port number. For example, Ethernet 1/0.

New questions about HSRP – drag and drop, VRRP – how should a proper VRRP configured interface look like – sets of commands mixed with HSRP commands and some other but cant remember. If you will not only memorize these answers but also understand it you can pass. Cheers !

Hi guys, I plan to take CCNP Switch soon, so could anyone help with latest questions and update on current exam. thanks

  15. london
    July 17th, 2018

@Anonymous I just passed yesterday (16 of July) I got 874, the minimum is 790. I paid 1 month of premium membership here. Honestly, I did not study that much, in total I spent around a solid 30 hours revising every question here plus labs. I read the whole book when I got my CCNA routing and switching, which took me about 6 months and that is after paying for a course. But I found that going straight to the questions here and understand the concept is better and faster. Most of the questions here have explanations which is very helpful and summaries the book. There is no way you will memorise over 600 questions, but if you understand the concept as you revise when the exam comes you will be able to filter out bad options on the multiple questions. On the other hand, labs were exactly the same here, word for word, memorise memorise labs.
If you are really serious about a career on Network then 15 dollars should be an investment. Paying 15 dollars you are able to see all the questions plus you have simulators for the labs. There also a site I found they have dumps free but after going through the switch dumps I realise that the questions are taken from here but no explanations. http://www.aoowe.com/ccnp.html
Labs here are the same, exactly the same. I found that some of the multiple questions are new and some modified, that’s why understanding the concept is so important.

    Focus on VTP and Spanning-tree
    Port security
    an dhcp snooping,
    many questions about these subjects

Q2. B & C should be correct. VTP uses the same multicast address as CDP. It does not mean VTP relies on CDP.

@Elvi, how come Q2 C? Second of all, LLDP use different multicast address than CDP… LLDP = 01:80:c2:00:00:0e CDP = 01:00:0c:cc:cc:cc
CDP still works when there is native vlan mismatch, at least on GNS3. Set different native vlans on both sides and after you get message that they are mismatched, change hostname. It will still work so it cannot be disabled.

    A. End of LLDPDU
    B. Chassis ID
    C. Port ID
    D. Time To Live
    E. VLAN ID
    F. System name ID
    G. Description ID

    I would go for B,C,E,F.

That would be my answers instead of ABCD. However in https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750x_3560x/software/release/15-0_2_se/configuration/guide/3750x_cg/swlldp.html
    Mandatory TLV are:
    Port description TLV
    System name TLV
    System description TLV
    System capabilities TLV
    Management address TLV
and 2 specifics, port vlan id and mac/phy config/status.

Moreover, looking at LLDP packet capture:

I am confused right now with this question and answers.

  30. trueteller

Seems like the guide is misleading somehow from my previous post?
    Looking at https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/docs/DOC-26851 and https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/documentation/71/pan-os/pan-os/networking/supported-tlvs-in-lldp

    Mandatory TLVs are:
    Chassis ID
    Port ID

and rest of them are optional.

I want to know if question 9 its good seems like the ones there are not mandatory

  32. Student01
    October 19th, 2019

For LLDP Question Set 3-question 2, the answers are B and E, but for Question Set 4-Question 4 on the answers are A and D.

Basically in the first one, CDP isn’t turned off by Native VLAN mismatch and in the second one it IS turned off by Native VLAN mismatch. Something is wrong there

Q9 should read: Which of the following TLVs are valid for basic management? (Choose five)

So removed “mandatory”… Of the mentioned TLVs only 5 are valid (and optional).

  1. No trackbacks yet.
